Rome, 2 May 2023 – Verisure, a multinational leader in the alarm and security systems market, has chosen Green Island, a new Rome-based business hub concept, as the Group’s new Italian headquarters, with the aim of ensuring the company’s continuity and boost its growth. Colliers Italia assisted the owner, Colliers Global Investors Italy, as advisor and project manager.
The transaction, in which Verisure was supported by CBRE as advisor, is among the largest in recent years by square metres leased in Rome’s EUR district, marking a clear recovery by one of the capital city’s most strategic office areas.
Conceived by the Colliers Global Investors Italy Team as a future new benchmark in terms of liveability, technology and space flexibility, Green Island is located in Rome’s EUR district. Covering an area of 14,000 square metres, it stands five storeys above ground on a square floor plan containing four green courtyards that ensure the building’s ventilation and cooling. It also includes a 2,500 square metre external area. The building has 16 vertical gardens containing numerous trees that naturally regulate sunrays and CO2 emissions. Thanks to this innovative solution, the building’s interior air temperature is lower by several degrees Centigrade, enabling a significant reduction in energy consumption for climate control. In addition, the plant technologies are based on renewable energy sources, and measures have already been taken to ensure electricity and drinking water savings.
Verisure, which has been operating in Italy for ten years and already has 250,000 customers in the country and 2,200 employees, over 1,000 of whom work in its Rome offices, selected the Green Island project for its distinctiveness, uniqueness and contemporary nature, in line with the values of sustainability, inclusion and people wellbeing that have been guiding the company since its foundation. The new headquarters will host the sector’s largest Operating Centre in Italy, offering space for institutional conferences and agile working, in a strategic location in the heart of Rome’s business district.
“At a time of rapid growth for our company, this transaction is leading us towards a fundamental step for our people,” stated Antonio Russo, Verisure CFO. “The goal was to identify spaces that could meet our current needs for social wellbeing, quality, workplace innovation and focus on relationships. After a thorough search, we found the answer to all our requirements in the Green Island offices, which will be ready to host us in the first half of 2024.“
Green Island is well connected to all the city’s strategic points and can be reached by both public and private transport. The nearby EUR Palasport Line B metro stop connects the property to the historical centre and Termini train station, while the Grande Raccordo Anulare, Rome’s main ring road, is just five minutes by car.
“We have a duty to offer properties that challenge the status quo while looking to the future: we are driven by the ambition to combine functionality with beauty. We believe we succeeded in doing so with Green Island, bringing to Rome an innovative model that is on a par with many of the assets being built in other European capitals. Verisure has understood and shared our vision, and we believe that it is in the position to best interpret the potential of our building,” commented Ofer Arbib, Colliers Global Investors Italy SGR CEO.
